Mites (8U)
Mite Hockey is the entry point for CHA Travel teams for 8U ages in our program. Players have ideally completed Learn to Play Hockey, In-House Hockey or equivalent.
Ages
Birth years for the 2026-2027 season are 2018, 2019 and 2020.
When
Tryouts are held in March of the current year. Teams are finalized in April with the season beginning in late August and running through March/April of the following year.
Where
Practices and home games are held at the Chelmsford Forum (2 Brick Kiln Rd., North Billerica).
Games are held at various rinks throughout the region as scheduled by the Valley Hockey League (VHL).
Practices
- Two shared-ice practices per week.
- Practice schedules subject to change based on ice availability.
Games
All Mite Teams will play USA Hockey ADM half-ice games for the full-season per USA Hockey & Mass Hockey rules.
Teams will typically play 20-30 games over the course of the season and will usually fall on the weekends.
Jerseys
Uniforms: Jersey order information will be provided prior to the start of the season.
Extra Costs
Any tournament fees over and above the amount granted per team are typically divided by the players. Travel costs are the responsibility of the participants.
