Scholarship Description

The Chelmsford Hockey Association awards this scholarship annually in honor and remembrance of Jacob M. Elmore (Jake). Jake was a dedicated player who embodied the spirit of our association – in his love of hockey, the excitement for the game, his determination to work hard, and most of all the camaraderie of the players and love of his family. In a tragic accident, Jake died at the age of 12, but his memory will continue in the achievement of others. Our goal in awarding this scholarship is to recognize young students who possess the skills and traits which we value as an association. It is our hope that the recipients of this scholarship will help further those attributes demonstrated by Jake, as they go forward in education and life.

Description: $1000 scholarship award, paid in the form of a check.

Qualifying Application of Funds: 2 or 4 year accredited college or university or vocational tool expenses.

Eligibility: Open to any graduating High School senior that has been a member of the Chelmsford Hockey Association and played at least 4 seasons at the travel team competition level. Eligibility is not limited to current Chelmsford Hockey Association players.

Scholarship Committee: Committee chair from the Chelmsford Hockey Association Board of Directors, members from the Board of Directors and CHA member families and Carol Elmore.
