CHA Clothing Sale in October

The Annual CHA Clothing Sale is running from October 17th to October 23rd  This is a great way to support Chelmsford Hockey, and get a jump on your holiday shopping.

If you missed the two nights at the Forum, there will be one last chance to view the items for sale at Center Sports in Chelmsford on Sunday, Oct. 22nd from 1:00 to 3:00pm.  Please click here to visit the Clothing Sale info and see the items for sale.  There is also an updated Order Form with a new item (Maroon Golf Shirt) and new sizing info on the Hockey Lace Sweatshirt.  Please click here for the new form.
Order forms must be turned in to Team Parents by October 23rd, and all checks need to be made payable to Chelmsford Hockey Association.  Team parents, please contact 978-250-9156 to submit your team's orders.

We are working with Center Sports this year, and CHA exclusive items, bearing a new CHA logo will only be available through this sale.  Be sure to come to the Forum for one of the "Demo Days" to see and try on samples.

Did you know that selling a CHA sponsorship can save you hundreds of dollars on your dues?
Here's how to get started:

1)      Email Michelle Kender at with the names of 3 to 5 businesses you wish to target. – first come, first serve

2)      Contact the businesses, using the posted Sponsorship Tier Program (click here, or ask them to visit the Sponsorship menu on our home page), requesting support of our organization.

3)      If the business agrees to sponsor, tell them a board member will contact them in the following few days to finalize the details.

4)      Once you get a yes or no from the businesses, you can pick 3 more to contact.

IMPORTANT!  You MUST let Michelle Kender know which businesses you are contacting.  We don’t want to alienate our potential sponsors with multiple solicitation calls.

BOTTOM LINE:  60% of the sponsor’s donation goes to the association to defray ice cost; the other 40% goes directly into your child’s tuition account.

You can earn up to a full year’s tuition AND the business is YOURS to renew from year to year!!
We've already had success with this program, as an association member recently sold the Granite City sponsorship, and saw a significant dues credit.  The program can work for you too!

CHA would like to announce that it is teaming up with SportsWash  to provide our families the opportunity to keep their athlete's hockey equipment clean, healthy and smelling great.

We have arranged for a "buy two and get one free" deal!  When you purchase the "3 Wash" Clean Card from CHA for $99.95 (a $150 value), you receive the three washes for the price of two.   Click on the SportsWash logo for a link to purchase your cards online. An ad for this offer will also appear on the Chelmsford Hockey homepage this weekend.

In House Hockey Update

The In House Program is off to a fast start. The skaters have shown tremendous progress and improvement over the first 5 weeks of practice. 31 skaters are participating and 2 Teams have been formed with scrimmage games planned against Haverhill and Tewksbury in November. Practice jerseys and socks were distributed and the players are practicing and acting like a seasoned hockey squad. In House Hockey is willing to take a few more players into the Program so please contact Pete Rega at if you are interested in more information.

Learn to Skate and Peter Puck Update

CHA will be hosting their “last call” Walk-In Registration for the Learn to Skate, Peter Puck instructional hockey, and In-House hockey programs.  This will take place at the Chelmsford Forum, Saturday October 28th 9am-Noon, and Sunday October 29th, 2pm-4pm.  These are “weekend only” winter programs with an emphasis on skill development … and having fun!  For more information contact Joe Fitzgibbons at , or click here for on-line registration and/or additional program info.

Tournament Pin Exchanges

Some tournaments feature a pin exchange prior to each game.  Please contact Scott Calnan at if you will need pins at a tournament.  I have a limited number of pins in stock, so please give me as much notice as possible so I can place an additional order if necessary.

Out of State Tournaments

If your team is planning on attending an out of state tournament an application for travel permit must be filled out.  This is located in your coach’s annual guide book or can be found at http://www.masshockey.com/PDF/Permit.pdf .  CHA will need to forward this to MASS Hockey with a check for $5.00. If it is not submitted three weeks prior to tournament the fee goes up to $50.00.

Mite Update and Some Super Team Parents

Congrats to the Mite 2's on their first win of the season!  Many more to come!
Click here to see a great article about the epic victory by Team Reporter/Web Parent Darlene Connelly of the Mite 2's.
Click here to read how the Mite 1's put a hurting on Billerica last week in the reporting stylings of Brian Gleason (nom de plume: Press D. Button).
Darlene and Brian (err... Press) are super examples of involved parents who are delivering a better experience for the kids on their team.  Darlene and Brian will be recognized with a Dunkin Donuts gift card as my Web Parents of the Month.  Thanks for all you are doing!

Player Practices With Goalie Clinics

We have been receiving many questions about team practices with the goalie clinics, so knew this would be a good time to clarify.  Whenver your team is scheduled for practice with the goalie clinics, the purpose is for the team to provider shooters for the goalies.  The first part of the practice, while the goalies are stretching and skating, the coaches can work with their teams.  Once the goalies are ready, Brad Morgan, our goalie instructor will demonstrate the drill and divide the goalies and shooters by age.  These sessions are vital to the development of the goalies, as well as are very helpful in developing shooting skills.  In addition, valuable drills which can be used in regular team practices are shared with the coaches.  Although theses sessions are additonal practices on a team's schedules, attendance is expected.
