Christmas Tree Sale
Thanks to everyone who bought a tree or wreath from Chelmsford Hockey. Also, thanks to those who worked at the event, especially Pam Anastasi, Brenda Crawford, and Bob Vecchione for their tireless efforts. The sale of the trees and wreaths netted over $6,000 in profit to help defray ice costs.
District Playdown games will be added to the schedules in the next week. Games are scheduled to begin 1/16. Good Luck to all teams.
For those of you new to the district and state playdown system, all Bantam, Pee Wee and Squirt teams will participate in a single elimination tournament to represent our district (#9) in the state tournaments in March. The Girls and Midget teams have already completed their playdowns, and there are no playdowns for Mite teams. Games are typically on week nights, and cannot be rescheduled. Chelmsford has typically sent a couple of teams each year to the state tournament, and has always represented our program well. We look forward to continuing this tradition. In addition this year, Chelmsford is the host for the Pee Wee tournament for the level 1 teams March 17-19.
Learn to Skate
Santa visited the Learn To Skate sessions a couple of weeks ago. Pictures can be seen byclicking here.
Goalie Equipment Demonstration
Brad Morgan, our goalie clinic coach has arranged for a representative from Bauer to give a free goalie equipment seminar to all goalies and parents. This will be held in one of the meeting rooms at the Chelmsford Forum on 1/23 immediately following the goalie clinic at 6:10. Included in the demo will be how to properly select, size and care for goalie equipment. This should be valuable for both the new goalie parent, as well as the veterans.

The Ice Breaker social is a fun night out for all, a chance to have a night out without the kids, and a chance to see what the other parents look like when they aren't shivering. There will be a DJ & karaoke, plus, Darren Cossette's band 'The Beach House Bums'! The tickets are $10 each.
Theme baskets will be raffled off throughout the evening at the social. Each team is responsible for donating one.

Several teams participated in the Groton Tournament in the Woods over the holiday break. The Pee Wee 2 White team reported having a great week of hockey, coming away with the first place trophies. (See them by clicking here) I also got positive feedback from the Mite 3's and the Squirt 2's. The Squirt two team took the second place trophies in their division. The Groton tournament is a good time with three local rinks being used. If you don't mind playing during the holiday week, it's a fun experience.
I know the Squirt 1's played in a New Year's tournament, if someone could pass along some info on that tournament, it would be appreciated.
If your team participates in a tournament, and you'd like to send a recap for an upcoming newsletter to let everyone know where he or she competed, how much fun they had, and how they did, please submit your Tourney Recap to
. It is helpful for all teams to be aware of what kind of experience the teams have at these events so we can send teams to the best ones in future years.
